Mini kitchen makeover with Geo tiles

Showing a complete new range of tiles is not easy when you don’t have lots of lovely finished installations to show what they might look like in real life. So – lucky us – we seized the opportunity to update our kitchen, vintage 2003, which unfortunately had some rather boring plain tiles, Cyprus not having much to choose from back in those days.
It just wasn’t practicable to re-tile completely so we looked at over-tiling the hob area (a favourite interior design quick-fix of mine anyway) and if we were very careful, the tiles would just fit. But the first problem was picking the right tiles from our range of gorgeous colours: normally you pick base tiles to complement décor tiles but for us it was the other way round. Hmm. The best colour to match the ever so slightly pinkish beige tile was ‘Moss’, and Geo Moss and Lilac was the definite favourite for the décor tiles. There followed a duel, whoops, dual approach to putting together the abstract design, agreement finally reached after several glasses of wine and using the Tile Pattern Designer. Phew.

I love working with Jaafar Designs to produce this contemporary range of tiles using their unique glazes. It has limitless possibilities for interior and exterior wall art – definitely along the lines of Coletivo Muda, a personal favourite …. And not just for professional designers but all creative people
